Collingwood (1860\u20131937, M.A.C.\u00a0\u201985, M.S.\u00a0\u201990) was a one-term state senator, Postmaster of the Agricultural College 1902\u20131907, and was on the committee to write the city\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kevinforsyth.net\/ELMAC\/charter\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1283\">charter<\/a>. He then served for more than twenty-five years as a Circuit Court judge for Ingham County. \u201cWhen\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kevinforsyth.net\/ELMAC\/oakwood\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"956\">Oakwood<\/a>\u00a0was originally designed, Sunset Lane was an alley running along the rear of lots facing wide Forest Street. Collingwood apparently took a fancy to the name, however, and built this mansion in 1904 to face Sunset. The narrow street then became very popular. The house has sheltered many fraternities [and sororities] over the years,\u201d including\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kevinforsyth.net\/ELMAC\/union-lit\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"510\">Union Literary Society<\/a>, Kappa Alpha Theta, and Farm House.<sup data-fn=\"20786d9b-2dfe-4288-a4fc-e2a5ebb889b5\" class=\"fn\"><a href=\"#20786d9b-2dfe-4288-a4fc-e2a5ebb889b5\" id=\"20786d9b-2dfe-4288-a4fc-e2a5ebb889b5-link\">1<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The C. B.
