A pair of crossing streets were named for his late parents, Almond and Eliza Harrison. This subdivision never really took off\u2014Newman\u2019s 1915 map only shows two buildings on its 32 lots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"196\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/kevinforsyth.net\/ELMAC\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/cedar-bank-2.jpg?resize=196%2C200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1496\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Detail of Cedar Bank from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kevinforsyth.net\/ELMAC\/sources\/#N\">Newman<\/a>, 1915.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">No trace of Cedar Bank, nor of several neighboring streets to the west in Lansing Township, remains today.\u00a0By around 1920, Cedar Bank had become the site of the East Lansing city dump, which remained active until the late 1940s or early 1950s. Substantial portions of the northernmost lots were condemned by the state highway department circa 1927 for construction of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kevinforsyth.net\/ELMAC\/michigan-avenue-boulevard\/\">Michigan Avenue boulevard<\/a>. Ultimately the rest of the land was acquired by M.S.U. and beginning in 1954 was replaced by the Brody Neighborhood of residence halls.
