Forsyth.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Around 1927, the fountain with its central statuary was moved to the Demonstration Gardens southeast of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kevinforsyth.net\/ELMAC\/horticulture\/\">Horticulture Building<\/a>\u00a0(\u201cOld Hort\u201d).<sup><a href=\"#footnote_1_1513\" id=\"identifier_1_1513\" class=\"footnote-link footnote-identifier-link\" title=\"Lautner puts the move in 1955, at the start of the Main Library build. However, the move was approved by the Board in October 1927, and the CADL Archive contains a postcard showing the statue in its new location, with a postmark of 29 August 1938.\">&dagger;<\/a><\/sup> The basin was \u201cmade of a soft stone and was so badly eroded\u201d that it could not be salvaged. A fountain is still in operation in the pool directly behind the Student Services building, but the original statue has long been removed.
