Grand River Ave. (c. 1903 \u2013 c. 1987)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"\">Edward Porter Kinney (1867\u20131955) founded the Capitol Electric Supply and National Coil Company in 1895, later known as the Capitol Electric Engineering Company. \u201cAs proprietor and president of this company, Kinney supervised many electrical engineering jobs throughout the Lansing area including work on the Capitol and on the Michigan Agricultural College campus. E.\u00a0P.\u00a0Kinney married Wilhelmina Sarah Graham and they had eight children,\u201d at least five of whom received degrees from Michigan State. Their eldest, Edward Everett Kinney (M.A.C.\u00a0\u201915) was hired by M.A.C. in 1920 as Instructor and later Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering, and retired thirty-eight years later\u2014from M.S.U.\u2014as Superintendent of the Buildings and Maintenance Department.<sup data-fn=\"52e32b75-888d-4a99-a5c9-da35f899b289\" class=\"fn\"><a href=\"#52e32b75-888d-4a99-a5c9-da35f899b289\" id=\"52e32b75-888d-4a99-a5c9-da35f899b289-link\">1<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">In October 1986, the Evans Scholars Foundation purchased four of the five\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kevinforsyth.net\/ELMAC\/fairview\/\">Fairview<\/a>\u00a0lots between Kedzie Street and Orchard Street, a parcel that included the Kinney house lot.
